Soon after, with his father encouragement, Eubanks won a local talent contest over 23 other entrants. The prize was a chance to perform live on stage with one of country music legendary artists, George Jones. Along with Tracy Lawrence and John Anderson, Eubanks sang backup for Jones on Don Need Your Rockin Chair, at the Pensacola Civic Center.
Eubanks father, George, made it his life mission to encourage his son musical talent and became his manager, promoting Dan all over the Gulf Coast.
